With this full day program by the east side of Hungary first we visit Tisza Lake, the second largest lake of Hungary, known for large open water surfaces and shallow water, countless dead-end channels, islands forming a characteristic so-called 'mosaic country' and exceptional wildlife.

By the lake we will go the Ecocentre of Tisza lake were we learn more about the area and visit the  largest freashwater aquarium system in Europe with the region's native fish species and with a total capacity of nearly 1 million litres. Then we go for a boat trip on the lake.

Just by the east part of lake is the Great Plain with Hortobágy National Park which is part of the UNESCO. After a unique hungarian lunch with gulash soup at a typical hungarian style tavern by the park we will discover the main attractions of Hortobágy including the nine-hole bridge. You also have a chance to go for horse carriage ride. After that we will watch a horseshow with hungarian cowboys and their tricks and get to know more about lifestyle and culture of the great plain. At the end of our program you will have freetime to visit artisan shops of the park with handmade and typical hungarian products.

After your freetime we are heading back to the Budapest, arriving late afternoon.

  • You will meet your local guide at 7:30, the tour strart at 8:00.

  • Transfer takes about 2 hours.

  • We will spend roughly 2-2,5 hours by the Ecocentre including boatrip

  • Lunch will be at Hortobágy around 13:00, transfer to go there takes about half an hour

  • Then for the rest of the day we will spend our time by the Hortobágy National Park

  • We expected to arrive back to Budapest between 18:00-19:00
